Modern Warfare 2: HD Multiplayer Gameplay #2

Modern Warfare 2: HD Multiplayer Gameplay #2

Check out this frantic, hellish battle taking place in : . The visuals are stunning, the gameplay seems tight, and the amount of statistics (and the general meta game) looks very fun.

Check out the “Multiplayer Gameplay Uncut: Flag Runner” in HD 60fps.

It’s worth the download. Checking it out in full resolution, buttery smooth 60 FPS is pretty damn sexy.

Here’s some analysis of the trailer:

  • Host migration
  • Throwing knives (Counts as primary grenade?)
  • Multiple attachments at once
  • Extended magazines
  • Ammo(?) drop as the 4-kill-streak reward
  • Call signs
  • Riot shield (With shield melee)
  • Predator missile
  • Radar scrambler? (You see the UAV turn to static)
  • “FMJ” (Full metal jacket? Choice of ammo?)

Further analysis:

  • RPG’s seem to move much much faster.
  • Shield Bashing is confirmed at :43 seconds (Sovereignty)
  • UAV Jammer seems to only work when you enter a certain radius of a player. (NotSoGeneric)
  • You can be in chat when in the AC130. You notice this helps because you can hear TSUEnami IW calling out all the enemy combatants. (username455)
  • You can still use your weapon even though you are carrying the flag.

This game is looking better and better. Throwing knives?! Awesome.

I agree with mattc0m but at this point, all the new things we’re seeing in MW2 are very pub oriented add-ons, like the shield, kill streaks and whatnot. So far there hasnt been many new things in MW2 that are applicable to the competitive scene. I have a feeling that once the promod comes out for MW2, its gonna feel like cod4 + a few new weapons + new maps. I’m not saying i dont think it will be big, because frankly the name alone will attract almost everyone who played MW, but i do think it will feel like a mod or expansion to MW1, which is a pretty big turn off to the comp scene.

Well, just gonna say that I’m a little less skeptical than you are! I’m very interested to see how it plays competitively… for some reason, COD (whilst very popular) never makes a huge impact on the professional level. Yes, they’re tournaments and LANs are stuff, but Call of Duty has yet to make it to Quake or Counter-Strike levels of professionalism.

I wonder why that is. And I wonder if the new game will help it become more or less likely to be a truly professional game.

I’m hoping it does make an impact on the competitive scene, personally. It just needs to be less spammy and more focused from the get go.

That looks fun(in a rather extreme way). Though the shields… might limit strategy, if not done right. Player’s might depend on them too much, since they’re so awesome.

  5. Armegadon says:

I completely agree mattc0m, and i also find myself wondering why any of the cod’s never make an impact, hopefully that will soon change.

    ! noticed !
Is it displaying custom clan insignias when he gets a kill? watch the bottom if the screen.
